Also, we're locking down a few remaining details for the recording of our upcoming full length record, and we should have some info soon. It's looking pretty certain that we'll be recording in June, and releasing the record in August. In a few weeks, I'll fill you in on exactly how and where we're planning on doing it.

We were fortunate enough to be featued on 'Last Call with Carson Daly' this week. Quite honestly, we had a really good time doing it, and everyone we worked with on this segment was incredibly cool. A sincere 'thank you' to everyone involved, and to all of you who have helped spread the word about it. In case you missed it, here it is:

Just a reminder that you can catch us on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, tonight at 12:35c / 10:35pst. If you miss it, we'll try to post the segment here some time later this week. Tune in tonight for some performance and interview.

We finished our Hotel Cafe Residency a few weeks ago. We don't even know where to start, but the best way to do it might just be with an honest 'thank you'. To see people come out every night, singing words to songs that aren't even recorded yet, and making us feel at home, was an experience that we are humbled by. The encouragement you send our way, and the reasons you give us for being able to relate to what we're singing about tells us that we're doing something right. It's so completely inspiring. I hope we can continue to do what we're doing for a long time coming, and that you might have taken away something from one of those Wednesday's that made it worthwhile...
We're excited to announce that the last show (#4) was actually filmed by NBC, and there may be bits and pieces from the night featured next week on Last Call with Carson Daly. They're doing a short segment on the band, with a few acoustic performances and a short interview. It airs late Wednesday (the 15th) night (or early, early Thursday if you want to get technical...), and hopefully there will be a few shots from Hotel Cafe mixed in there.
It feels like we're finally moving with the current. We owe it to the Revivalists... Not only the people who came out to these past residency shows, but every single person who believes in this idea. We're slowly making our way around this giant country, and our strength is in numbers. Let the Revival begin...

And right now is one of those times. Damnit. As some of you may know, we've been planning to hit the road starting the day after Thanksgiving and continuing into early December. The idea for this tour was presented to us by one of our friends who works at The Agency Group, and the plan was for us to hit the road with one of the bands he works with (The Lusitania). He kicked some ass as far as getting the tour booked goes, and the whole run came together in a matter of a few weeks. Everything was going according to plan... Until last week when something happened that nobody could have prepared for. The band we were going out on the road with got in to a car accident and rolled their van. Our buddy called us to fill us in on the news, and furtunately, everyone was ok. Pretty busted up, but alive. The decision was made to postpone the tour and reschedule the dates for early 2012. In all honesty, the decision was out of our control, and there is absolutely nothing we could do about it. Our buddy at The Agency Group as well as everyone involved is trying to handle the situation the best way they know how, and at this point, all we can look towards is the new year. Most importantly, everyone is ok, and everyone is alive. We hope you can understand, and we hope to have your support next time we're back through.
What's on our agenda now? We're refocussing our efforts on getting things in order for a new record. Starting to experiment with different arrangements, demo's, and sounds. There should be a new record out some time early next year. Don't know an exact date yet, but it won't be soon enough.
Enjoy your holidays and the time with your family. Thanksgiving is upon us.

It's good. Yesterday we hung out on the porch all day, occasionally wandering around the backyard. Liza came over, brought some of her old film cameras, and did a really cool job of capturing the essence of what yesterday was all about. We played some new music, sat around and talked, and exposed a fair amount of film. We showed her around the house and studio a bit too, so maybe we'll get some of that for you soon. There's a good vibe here. We're really settling in and starting to explore some really cool things with our writing.

Last weekend was a good one. Joshua Tree National Park is a very unassuming place. 5 miles from the park entrance I found myself asking what we drove all the way out here for. 5 minutes inside the park, and that question was answered. The way the rocks have eroded and situated themselves is one of the most vexing things I've seen in while. Crazy. It's a place we'll definitely be back to. Zach wants to get in to bouldering, and I think that's a damn good idea. This is the kind of place that would want to make anyone start climbing.

Yes, we have been off the grid for a while. Writing. Crafting. Hypothesizing. _____ing. Ad lib. But we're not staying off the grid forever. That's just the way things must work. It's the process. Our music comes and goes in cycles and when the cycle decides to start again, we're somewhat of a slave to it.
For now, Los Angeles is our temporary home, but Texas is still in our hearts.
We've got a few dates coming up over the next few weeks, but we won't be going back out on the road for an extended period of time until August. The run is already taking some serious shape however, and we'll be posting the dates soon. It will be a West coast tour, and we'll be back to Washington for sure.
In the mean time, you can expect a consistent dose of hearsay posted by two of us. We're writing, exploring, and putting together some really cool ideas over here, and we'd be honored to have you as our company throughout the expedition.
For now, Off to Joshua Tree...
